MATERIA, a new way of looking at flowers
There are collections that are born from an idea and others that mark a change.
MATERIA was born from the need to look at flowers in a different way.
After years of working with natural flowers, preserving their beauty and turning them into jewelry, I felt I wanted to go beyond their recognizable form.
To stop treating the flower solely as a delicate element and to begin exploring it for what it also is: matter, volume, texture, and color.
The flower as matter
In this collection, natural flowers meet metal, thread, and pearl.
They fold, they fragment, they change scale, and they engage in dialogue with other materials.
I do not seek to correct their irregularities. Quite the contrary.
A vein, a variation in tone, or the unexpected shape of a petal are part of the piece and make each jewel necessarily distinct.
From this exploration, Grafito, Pliegue, Pátina, Veta, Lino, Pigmento, Trama, and Fragmento are born, along with Gesto and Huella.
Names that speak of matter because, on this occasion, the flower is not the theme of the collection.
It is the material from which it is built.
A collection that opens a new path.
MATERIA also represents an evolution in my way of working.
More contained collections. More freedom to experiment. New combinations of materials and a search that is increasingly closer to designer jewelry.
The pieces continue to be made one by one, by hand, and the flowers remain natural. But the intention is different.
Not just preserving their beauty.
Transforming it.
MATERIA is the beginning of that path.
